The Good Health Store’s Kashmiri Bunch Saffron (Gucchi Kesar) is sourced from the fertile valleys of Pampore in Kashmir. It comes from the Crocus sativus flower and is carefully handpicked and naturally dried to maintain its purity, aroma, and strength.

This is the most complete and authentic form of saffron, known as Bunch Saffron, where all three parts of the thread, red, yellow, and white, are kept intact. The strands are dried together in their full natural length, around 3 to 6 cm, and then tied into small bundles without separating any part. Since there is no processing involved, the saffron is simply harvested, dried, and tied, making it one of the purest forms available. Among these, the red part is the most valuable as it gives the strongest colour and aroma, while the yellow and white parts are milder but still a natural part of the saffron.

Known for its rich fragrance and deep colour, it releases a beautiful golden hue when soaked, showing its purity. Whether used in milk, desserts, or traditional recipes, it adds natural richness and authentic flavour to every use.

1. Why is Kashmiri Bunch Gucchi Saffron special?
It is the most natural and complete form of saffron, where all parts of the thread are kept intact. It is handpicked, naturally dried, and minimally processed, which helps retain its original aroma, colour, and strength.
2. Why does saffron come as a tied bundle, and do I need to tie it again after opening?
Saffron is kept in its natural form without separating the strands, which is why it is gently tied into small bundles, often called Bunch or Gucchi saffron. This keeps its authenticity and traditional look intact. Once you open it, there’s no need to tie it again. You can simply take the required strands and store the rest in an airtight container for everyday use.
3. Can I use Bunch Saffron without soaking it?
Yes, you can use it directly, but soaking it in warm water or milk helps unlock its maximum flavour, aroma, and colour, ensuring it distributes evenly rather than leaving concentrated, bitter spots. It also helps release its active compounds like crocin (for colour) and safranal (for aroma), giving better overall results.
4. Does the bunch form mean higher quality?
Yes, Bunch saffron is considered more authentic because it includes all parts of the thread and is less processed. This keeps it closer to its natural and original form.
5. Is Bunch Saffron suitable for kids?
Yes, Bunch Saffron is safe for kids when used in small quantities. It can be added to milk or food and is often used traditionally for its natural benefits. It may also support brain development and help boost immunity and digestion.
