For longer-lasting fragrance, apply an unscented moisturizer to your skin before using the attar as this helps hydrate the skin and let's the attar last longer.
Apply a small amount to your pulse points, such as the wrists, neck, and behind the ears. These naturally warm areas help the fragrance develop and diffuse throughout the day.
Avoid rubbing immediately after application, as it may affect how the fragrance unfolds.
For dark-coloured clothing, you can apply the attar directly using the roll-on or spray bottle or alternatively, for light-coloured or delicate fabrics, avoid direct application to prevent staining.

Instead of directly applying on clothes, you can aslo use one of these methods:

Palm Spread: Place a few drops of attar on your palm, pat both palms together, and gently glide them over the outer fabric.
Inner Seams & Pockets: Apply a small amount to hidden areas such as pocket linings, inner cuffs, or the underside of a collar.
Cotton Ball Method: Place a tiny drop on a cotton ball and keep it inside an inner pocket for a gentle, long-lasting scent.

What is the difference between attar and perfume?

Attar (also called itr) is a pure, concentrated oil-based fragrance with no alcohol, traditionally made by distilling flowers, herbs, or resins into a oil base. Perfume is a fragrance compound dissolved in alcohol. Attars last longer on skin, feel more skin-friendly, and carry a warmer, more intimate character. Alcohol-based perfumes project more immediately but fade faster.

Can we mix attar and perfume together?

Yes, and it works very well. Apply the attar first on pulse points and let it settle for a minute. Then spray your perfume on top or nearby. The attar acts as a base layer that anchors and extends the perfume, adds depth, and improves longevity. This is called layering and is one of the best ways to create a unique signature scent.

How long does attar last?

Attar is generally longer lasting. It is because it is oil-based with a high concentration of fragrance materials and no alcohol to evaporate, it can last 12-15 hours or more on skin.

Can attar be applied on underarms?

Yes, though with caution. Applying a small amount on clean underarm skin is a traditional practice and can work well. Use sparingly, 1 dab as the warmth of underarms intensifies the fragrance significantly. Make sure the skin is clean and dry before application to avoid irritation. Avoid applying on irritated or freshly shaved underarm skin.

Can attar be applied on clothes?

It can, but be careful. Oil-based attars can leave a small stain on light-coloured fabrics, especially silk or cotton. For clothing, apply on fabric folds or on the inside of collars and cuffs where staining would not be visible. Perfume sprays are generally safer for fabric application.
